I'll never forget visiting Beatty-Cole in San Antonio, in 1970. The lot was a quagmire and the rain incessant. The brave patrons could not get a single car off the parking arena. Cline was atop a harness elephant, hooking on to one car after another, dragging them onto pavement. Every driver's window rolled down and out came the greenbacks. Cline must have done all right that night, as he was still towing cars off when the Big Top came down.
