Christy.Bros MENAGERIE One-sheet (c.1925)
This is the Christy Bros Menagerie one-sheet which was sold to
collectors by Central Show Print of Mason City, Iowa decades after it was
originally printed by the Riverside Printing Company of Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Note that it is identical to the Seils Sterling nine sheet seen above. When
Riverside closed its doors at the start of the Great Depression, was the
remaining stock purchased by Central Show Print? Was those one-sheets shipped
to Mason City Iowa with much larger posters - some of which were reworked
and used by Seils-Sterling?

I have this some one sheet for the Robbins Bros show of 1938. This must be some well reused paper. How many other shows used the Christy litho? Would my Robbins Bros paper have come from Central Printing? thanks. Bob Amon
Bob,
The 1938 Robbins that Adkins and Terrell owned as well as Cole Bros used Erie litho and printing.
Robbins used many of what Cole used with the Robbins title on it.

In the back of my mind, I remember seeing Carson and Barnes Paper in the 1970s that looked a lot like this.
I bet it was Acme show print in Hugo made copies of many old posters like the Al G. Barnes lion and tiger on an elephant as I have one like that for CB.
Also it was said Art Miller took a Christy meg to Enquirer and they made the Al G. Kelly and Miller bros meg poster from that.
