Wow 16 horses in 1 ring Wow
When was the last time that
might have happened on RBBB
Not in the last 40 years
I seem to recall 3 rings of 12
Wasn't Nellie the daughter of
Kay & band leader I forgot
This was made into a 24-horse act, so to speak, with the addition of 8 good-sized ponies, an act I saw her present at one of the last Shrine circuses here in Baltimore. It wasn't presented at too many Hanneford engagements. I have photos somewhere but can dig them out as easily these days.

Nellie is the daughter of Kay Frances Hanneford and James Ille.
Thanks Roger now I can say "Oh
Yeah" & I recall he was a band
leader of sorts for a while
I believe you will find that in I believe 67 or 68 that Trolle Rhodin had imported some 16 Lippizan mares for RBBB and a young German trainer named Edd mishkie presented them in the show. Later they would be split into eights and Mrs. Rhodin and Evie Althoff would present them and later Mary Ruth Herriott and Lillimon Moeller would present. They were then sold to the Hermann Lippizaner family in Myakka city, Fl. and became just bimportant breeding stock by tham.
Jimmy Isle was married to Kay long after Nellie was born.
This was a group of twelve Tommy had me train for Nellie and I was pleased at my efforts and Nellies ability to work them. A couple years later Nellie and husband Adrian added four more and did a good job. Unfortunately cost of operation and not enough solid bookings caused them to have to split them up and sell.
Any guesses about her father
