1940 Junk Circus #1 (From Eric Beheim)


One of the 1940 issues of Bell & Howell’s movie-making magazine FILMO TOPICS had an article on a short animated circus film that had recently been made by a Mr. Ludwig Wronkow of New York City. It was titled JUNK CIRCUS because the “cast” was made up entirely of figures that Mr. Wronkow had assembled from odds and ends found about the house. These figures were so ingeniously done that they are worth examining in detail since they might provide some ideas to those of you who are teachers and/or artists.

I searched "WorldCat" which is a catalog of most of the libraries in the United States. Nothing comes up for "Junk Circus", but...

The “Center for Jewish History” in New York has a computer file titled “Interview with Ludwig Wronkow” That interview might have some information about whether any film survives.
