The late 1800s and early 1900s are generally considered as the “golden age” of the Art Nouveau advertising poster. The Paris-based artists who created these posters included such famous names as Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Jules Cheret and Alfons Mucha who, disregarding all the rules, created a revolutionary new look for Parisian outdoor advertising that lasted up to World War I. Today, posters like these are collected and displayed as works of fine art.
