This photo was taken earlier then the rest of the others. Looking at it, I think it is the back door marque during the 30's on the Ringling show. She almost looks a little like Dorothy Herbert when she was younger. The outfit doesn't look right with her as she was always a horse person. But, maybe that isn't a bullhook? p.j.
Yes Chic it does look like a bullhook. But it has some type of a design painted on it. If this is Ms. Herbert, she carried a riding crop when she went over her jumps in her act. She rode side saddle with one leg, and held in both her hands over her head, a riding crop, which could be the folded end in her left hand. Again, I am not even sure this is her. She started on Ringling when she was 20 years old in 1930 and was in many routines. p.j.
