More odds & ends #6



The April 10, 1937 issue of THE NEW YORKER magazine came out two days after the Ringling-Barnum Circus opened in Madison Square Garden. Each year, the Circus would take out ads in THE NEW YORKER, which reciprocated by publishing circus related articles and cartoons.

The articles on Merle Evans, Roland Butler, Lillian Leitzel, and Gargantua that appear in Robert Lewis Taylor’s book CENTER RING were originally published in THE NEW YORKER.
