The first Horse of the Year Show took place in 1949 in Harringay Arena in north London. A well-known venue for circuses and wild west shows, Harringay was located only twenty minutes by underground (i.e. subway) from Piccadilly. In 1959, the show moved to Wembley Arena in the London Borough of Brent. In 2002, it moved again to the National Exhibition Center at Birmingham, where it is currently being held. |
