You notice this daub is for Hagenbeck-Wallace-Fourpaugh-Sells meaning 1935, when Beatty was on the new Cole show playing at the old Coliseum and Bert Nelson was working the former Beatty act. yet they are still using paper with Beatty's name- must have been confusing to the locals.

Used to be a colored old timer that worked on the stake and chain wagon and liked to read thoswe soft ack books. he was called forepaugh. I guess because he had been with that show. Anyway to keep his books from unwelcome readers he wrote in the inside cover 4-PAW. johnny
