From Roger Smith


BIG EMMA, AS MINYAK, WITH GLORIA GRAHAME, AS ANGEL, in
THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.

The photo is from the 1952 Program of World Jungle Compound. I gave
notice to Louis Goebel, as he originated the Old Place, which had a suc-
cession of names. Goebel consulted, and was present on the picture, as
he knew the animals, and their trainers, better than anyone else. His
gentle, personable nature soothed many fractious moments in tense
situations. But the actual animal and equipment rental credits belong
to Billy Richards and Trader Horne, who operated the Compound
under this title at the time.
