The Ortons #9

At about this time my father came up from Lancaster to claim the blushing bride. Anticipating trouble he took a couple of elephant hands along with him. Rather odd since she would have been 27 by this time.
The Honeymoon was brief, money was short so he went to work for Highpockets on the Floto Show and my mother joined Nellie and Grace on Russell Bros.
Orton Bros. Circus finished it's days under the peculiar title "Arabian Society Circus".

Nobody will read this at this late date, but Jacob A Wagner was a well-to-do railroad man and one-time CFA president. Mention of the CFA top in the obit makes me wonder if this came out of White Tops or was possibly written by Wagner.

A few years after this Wagner "railroaded" pardon the pun the name and number away from the first Clyde Beatty Tent # 10 in Norfolk and established it in Des Moines.
