The Ortons #8

This is my uncle Criley and wife Ida,  my mother said she was called "Big 6" since she had been center on the Adel basketball team. Don't know how many children they had but the Ortons were quite prolific. My dad liked him and said he was the only one that had been with any show other than Orton Bros. One day he was showing the kids how to do a handstand and ruptured a blood vessel and died shortly thereafter. His wife now encumbered with a large family and the Great Depression at the door managed raise them all alone and most of them had outstanding careers in Central Iowa.
