"The Clown And The Kids" #16

According to IMDb, the Bulgarian version of THE CLOWN AND THE KIDS runs 102 minutes while the version released in the US runs 75 minutes. The reviews for this film that are posted on the IMDb site run the gambit from “lighthearted and romantic” to “fundamentally weird” with the truth probably somewhere in between. (Does anyone know what Kelly thought of this film?) It is available on DVD from several different eBay dealers. While certainly not in the same league as DeMille’s THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, it does provide an opportunity to see Emmett Kelly performing in and out of makeup. (You can always fast-forward through the musical numbers and those scenes when Kelly is off-screen.)
