MSG "Diana" #1 (From Eric Beheim)

No discussion of the second Madison Square Garden building would be complete without mentioning Diana (aka “Diana of the Tower”) which sat on top of MSG for over three decades.
Diana was commissioned by architect Stanford White as a weathervane for the second Madison Square Garden building, which he designed. She was created by White’s friend the famous sculpture Augustus Saint-Gaudens, who used Julia “Dudie” Baird as his model (not White’s later mistress Evelyn Nesbitt as is sometimes claimed.)
