No, Chic. I mean the Longacre Building that was across 42nd from the original Knickerbocker Hotel where Caruso lived. The Knick is still standing on the SE cor of 42nd and Broadway but hasn't been a hotel for many years. I should say it was standing last time I was in Times Square.
So the Longacre would have been the NE cor of 42nd and Broadway. As you know the Times Building was on an island where 7th Avenue and Broadway merge and backing up to 42nd Street.
The Times Building -later Allied Chemical; I have no idea what it's called now- may not have even been built when this pic was taken. It would have been to your left just out of sight. Completely covered with advertising now.

Come on, Chic, wake up. This is 42nd and Broadway looking north. The Longacre Building would be built on this corner where the B&B display is shown.
See the Shanley's vertical sign midblock? The old Cadillac Hotel would have been on the next corner at 43rd.
Not my photo Dave I never saw it
(I'm not sleeping only dozing)
Up in NY for a few days
Oh the Longacre Square tower that
became known as the Times tower
Just slightly before my time Dave
The newest Times building is on
Eighth Avenue between 40th & 41st
Their previous home was attached
to the back of the Paramount bldg
