John Herriott said...: Yes George Smith did a year and a day as did Ayelworth, and Haley. It is true about the Deacon getting off. He said he could be replaced and that the show was going before him and would continue on. From prison George would go to Grift show, Dailey Bros as head honcho and owner was sick and couldn't ramrod the show. It is said that Smith did a superlative good job for, I believe a couple seasons and then Clyde Beatty brought him over to manage his railroad show.Even later he would take over the advance of RBBB.
