While I was away in the Army my dad had to scuffle to hire a driver.
While with Rudy Bros. he had Ted Galop for a while.
Ted was a pretty fair elephant hand, and very handy, made bull hooks, was a builder, welder.
Unfortunately there was no place for him to live so he proceeded to build an upright cabinet right in where the elephants rode assuring my dad that it was indestructible.
They opened the door after the first jump and there stood "Lydia" thumping his type writer up and down.
My dad said it looked like a tornado had passed thru, clothes, personal effects, photos everywhere.
Ted reached in amongst the ruins, pulled out a shoe and asked, "Colonel, do you know any one-legged men?"
