Yes they were half brothers and later both having been Wild West people had bear acts of American Black bears. tanglefoot

Not long ago, I told of the friendship Charlie and I struck up on location for DR. DOLITTLE. He was a friendly, funny, and likeable guy. If you see the picture again, look closely during the sequences depicting Blossom's Circus. When Richard Attenborough, as Blossom, celebrates his Pushmi-Pullyu, he sings and dances to "I've Never Seen Anything Like It". This leads to the parade in front of the Big Top, and the Spec inside. Beverly Allen got makeup and wardrobe pay for walking their bears in the number, altho the act itself was not used. Jungleland veterans will spot our other on-camera people. I was a behind-the-scenes animal caretaker on DOLITTLE, far out of frame, but I'd never seen any payday like the 12 I got from 20th Century-Fox.
