FRISCO – The circus will not be coming to Frisco, after all.
Thursday afternoon, Frisco’s Heritage Association decided to call off its annual circus which doubles as a fundraiser for the non-profit group that leads the city's preservation efforts.
A message posted on the association’s website said performances scheduled for Friday and the weekend will not be held. The group is offering refunds to ticketholders, yet they asked people to resist demanding their money back.
“We would appreciate it if you could consider you ticket purchase as a tax deductible donation,” the posting read.
Jerry Edwards, the Association’s treasurer, said organizers with the Kelly-Miller Circus decided the ground was too wet for its heavy equipment and animals.
The circus was supposed be held on an empty lot near Frisco’s City Hall.
“The circus could not find a place that was dry enough,” Edwards said. “It’s unfortunate… because it has been our primary fundraiser.”
The Oklahoma-based traveling circus raises between $5-$10,000 a year for the Heritage Foundation, Edwards estimates.
In 2010, snow forced the group to cancel some performances. |

According to Steve the clown on his blog he and a few more layed over at a trailer park not far from Mondays town.
The cut and shoot winterquaters are Bill Swains where he keeps his elephants.
