When Jess Adkins and Zack Terrell started their Cole Bros Circus in 1935 the artists at Erie Litho created many new designs, but none took more artistic license than this poster, depicting a fantasy ship unloading the circus after a "Conquest of the Old World". This poster was only used briefly by Cole Bros - yet perhaps because of its striking design it was among those brought back in the mid 1960s when Acme Litho lifted the artwork and reprinted these designs for a new generation of circuses and circus fans.
