The rehash of the Ringling Barnum poster shown above didn't translate as well as some of the others shown here. The "King Bros" title seems to be slapped on - and doesn't fit the poster as well as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. Although the artwork on these posters was shamelessly reproduced, this particular piece did reain the signature of artist Roland Butler, who originally created this artwork some 30 years before. |

Rick Pfening once did a swell write-up about this poster art. It originated with Strobridge, then Central Litho and then Erie. So Acme must have been the fourth outfit to issue this design with only minor changes over the years. I mean minor changes in the art; obviously the quality changed drastically.
