The recent photo showing the Cavalia big top reminded me that I have a program from the eight city tour of the United States and Canada that was done by Vienna’s Spanish Riding School in April-May 1964.

Wasn't this tour presented by

Sol Hurok or Morris Chalfont who

had worked for him

The photo that appeared on the front cover of the 1964 tour’s souvenir program is most likely a still from the 1963 Disney film MIRACLE OF THE WHITE STALLIONS. The filmmakers considered the brown uniforms traditionally worn during School performances as too drab for the gala performance that concludes the film. As a result, red uniforms were used instead.

My Mother received two medals with certificates from the Spanish Riding School, one in Gold and one large one in silver. The silver one is 3" inch in diameter, 4mm thick and weighs 5 ounces. She was a well known dressage rider for almost 40 years
