Although Buffalo Bill had been dead for decades, the success of cowboy movies in the 1930s bolstered interest in wild west "Aftershows" - seen on many circuses during the Great Depression. For an extra ticket, circus fans could see a program such as the Al G. Barnes "Mexican Rodeo" of 1936 following the main performance.
