King Chas Weatherby is still on the road arrowing Lewis and Clark circus as I saw him in Louisiana in October. Last of the side show band men. Harry in Texas
Harry, He had the swingingest circus band in the business. Was lucky to hear his band back in the 50's and they really made the main show rock. Seems to me he had a kid trombone player who looked like he was 13 years old. Bob Kitto
Bob, I always like your comments as it adds to circus history and what you and your Dad got to see back then. I have a recording of King Charles on Hoxie with sweet Georgia brown, and yes was a swinning band. That young guy you commented on might be King charles son. I took one of the old Kelly Miller route books and enlarged and copied the side show band pic and sent copies to Bob Childress and to get one autographed by King charles. Bob said it thrilled King charles to see it again. Great days of the circus. Harry in Texas

Tom King must have come over on the Mayflower with P T Barnum- he went 'way back.
This must have been before Chas Weatherby or Weathersby became a King.
