No More Ringling In The Garden? (From KLSDAD)

??? Wow... Can it be?

The new (approaching 1 BIL$$) renovation of Madison Square Garden

does NOT have Ringling Bros.. on its list of shows for Spring 2012... nor

does the Ringling site for the new Blue show.

(See Ringling site tour dates of the new Blue show DRAGONS.)


(You'll remember they didn't play NYC 2011 due to the renovation.)

Please correct me if I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!


The Feld ice shows have not appeared at the Garden for a few years...

and now the second year for the absence of Ringling Bros. (Yes.. I know.. FELD!)


There have been news releases of Ringling playing the yet not-completed

Barclay's arena in Brooklyn starting in 2012.. but....... who knows???


Do you??? Is Feld out of the Garden???


And.. with the news of anti-transport legislation of circus animals (you name 'em!)..

Any news of anyone buying up a large tract of land for a National Circus World?????


Just dreaming...........??

I've been told that the primary

reason for the renovation is to

provide more seating & skyboxes

For the Dolan family which owns

& or operates the Garden as well

as Radio City Music Hall & the

newly renovated Beacon Theater

as well as the last remaining

large screen movie house in NY

the famed Ziegfeld is primarily

concerned with TV opportunities

as their umbrella organization

which also owns several sports

teams is "Cablevision" & as such

Big Bertha doesn't provide this

A fellow who will remain nameless

was high up in the food chain at

Disney Theatricals for whom I have

worked on many shows both domestic

& foreign has recently become head

of production for the MSG Group

They have been spun off from the

main Cablevision Co but remain

completely under Dolan control

The list of their holdings grow

to woolly mammoth proportions

Ringling is out of the garden for a few years. As the Garden is still not done being renovated yet. Don't look for Ringling to return to the garden for a few more years. 2014 at the earliest. Ringling WILL return to the garden. Renovations just pushed them out for a few years.

They will continue to play both

the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island

as well as whatever they now call

the arena in the meadowlands (had

been the Continental Airlines) as

they have for several years so the

metropolitan NY area can be served
