Tarzan The Ape Man #5

It is well known that, for its Tarzan films, MGM transformed Asian elephants into African elephants by the simple expedient of covering their real ears with large and rather unconvincing fake ears.

I believe Chang Reynolds told me that the tusks were fake as well.
At least they tried to imitate African elephants!! Not like later films where there was no such effort and we had Asians running amok in Africa.
