This is my dad and "Kay" with Kelly-Miller in 1950.
The five rings were pre-set with planks in each end, globes in rings 2 & 4 and a bottle-walk in the center. The last five elephants in spec "Jenny", "Hattie" "Barbara", "Anna May" and "Kay" (that he had trained the previous winter) would continue right on into the rings and become the opening act. This cart was built high enough for the axle to clear the bottles. Does Eddie look scared shitless? You bet he does. On more than one occasion "Kay" would get hung up the shafts coming down from her head stand and tip the cart over. |

It's interesting to see variations of spelling for Eddie. I've also seen Dullum. Eddie was laying over from Suesz with my family and I in Waco, in 1970, when suddenly one night he was hit with a heart attack. I summoned the cardiologist and took Eddie to Hillcrest Hospital. While he was in the ER, I had to provide his ID to Admitting. On his passport and drivers license, the spelling read Edward Bruce Dullem.
