"Broadway's Magic Man"

54 Days ’til Godspell: Signing someone for special effects.
Posted on August 20, 2011 by Ken
What’s great about working with incredibly creative people is that every day by day in production, new and exciting ideas are born. I call it these ideas “Wouldn’t it be cool if . . . ” moments.
Danny Goldstein and David Korins have had a number of “Wouldn’t it be’s” lately . . . so it’s up to the General Manager, Charlotte Wilcox, and me to figure out how to give them the support we need to turn them into a reality.
Today, we hired Chic Silber, a Special Effects Consultant, to work on 2-3 “special” moments in the show. Chic’s stationery refers to himself as a “Theatrical Engineer,” but I like to call him “Broadway’s Magic Man” (which I stole from this podcast Chic did last year).
Chic has been designing special effects on Broadway for over 30 years, and we’re honored to have him designing the effects for Godspell that you will see in . . . 54 days.

Chic: I don't know what you were doing to those girls but it seems to have been working.
