From Melina Carty

"Ms Carty is quite a fan of the Power family and their elephants. She has sent me considerable material the past few years particularly regarding their long say in England with Bertram Mills.
The elephants names were "Lena", "Jennie", "Roxie" and "Julia" and one would assume the latter was named after Ms Power.
This act originated with the Walter L. Main Circus."

Miss Powers was very Charismatic in her capable presentation of the Powers elephants in every way. It was a great act and she made it better. I know, I saw it. johnny

When Jake made a deal with Hugo Schmitt, they immediately set out to get more elephants.
They wound up buying six, all pretty much past their prime.
Two from the Ringling Show "Ringling Trilby" and "Wallace Jenny" (one eyed).
As well as four from Louie Stern who had just made a deal to hire the Tom Packs act.
Two of these were the last Powers elephants "Lena" and "Jennie" along with "Bunny" and "India".
This gave them two elephants with the same name so "Powers Jennie" became "Dixie", she remained on the show thru 1953 then sold to Howard Suesz and Hagen Bros.
"Lena" died on the Mills Show in 1955.
