Buckles - Our good friend and fellow blogger, Jack Ryan was inducted into the International Circus Hall of Fame in Peru, IN this past weekend. Jack is noted for creating the tagline, "May All Your Days Be Circus Days!". That phrase was created when the Feld's purchased the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in 1967 from John Ringling North. Jack became the publicist for The Greatest Show on Earth, was responsible for some of their most spectacular publicity stunts and wrote many of the programs and show scripts from the 60's to the 90's. Jack left the circus and worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain and taught public relations theory at the University of Southern California before retiring to Pensacola, FL. where he still does freelance writing and maintains the daily circus blog, "May All Your Days Be Circus Days" on Facebook. |

Congratulations to Jack Ryan.
A well deserved award, certainly one of the best publicest in the business and a dear friend.
Sue & Rudi Lenz.
Congratulations on your induction into the Circus Hall of Fame Mr. Ryan. As an admirer of your work, I feel the honor was much deserved.
I always thought your "May all your days be circus days" was simply brilliant. What a nice wish for anyone.
Best Regards,
Henry
Prior to his circus career Jack worked for Lee Solters the veteran show biz/Broadway press agent.
After the ceremonial contract signing at the Roman Coliseum when Felds/Hofheinz purchased RBBB, Mr. Solters sent Jack to Winter Quarters in Venice, Florida
The rest is history!
Perhaps Jack and Jerry Digney can add more to this thread.
Congratulations to Jack and Norman Barrett, both circus legends that deserve the honor of being inducted into the International Circus Hall of Fame.
