Extreme left in a bluish shirt Maxillmiano (spelling?) Truzi juggeler and we should all know the stars by now and of cource Cucilo (spelling?)in Charlton's arms. We all recognize Lou Jacobs and Ernie Birch Jackie LeClaire,Dorothy Lamour and Betty Hutton. Jackie LeClaire
After Truzzi left the road he operated a hotel in Sarasota- I believe called the Colonial- and I stayed there one spring before the Cristiani show went out. He seemed very pleased when I told him how much I had enjoyed seeing him juggle torches years earlier on the 1943 show.
I always liked Truzzi's beach ball into the audience and the vendor spiling the tray of popcorn when a member of the audience stood up to return the ball and the vendor looking mad as hell and stomped off. Bob Kitto
Right behind Bette Hutton and beside Lou is a young Ernie Burch. He tolde me alot about the filming and was so thrilled that a little New Jersey kid on his own made it to be immortalized in a great circus and movie and was awed to be working with Lou Jacob and all the wonderful people with the GSOE. I have those same sentiments.Al ex Ringling folks become a part of a wonderful fraternity of having been a part of it. From the working people to its top stars and executives. One season or many makes no difference. I always say its the GSOE to be from. case closed. johnny
I trouped with Cuciolla [hope I spelled it right] and recently various people in the know have identified his lengthy real name. So I would ask those same folks to tell us how, why and where did the name Cuciollo come from. We all knew him by that name and his billing in the movie is Cuciolla.
He went from the movie to a career working elephants, liberty ponies and an excellent comedy trampoline act and it was ood, believe me. We miss him and it is wonderful that he is in the CIRCUS RING OF FAME. a FINE performer and showman all the way. I am glad I knew im. johnny. the same goes for my long time friend Ernie [birdie blinko] Burch. Thanks, Johnny
Incidentally Ernie gave me the nickname of Tanglefoot some 60 yrs. ago and it never caught on, but I thought it would be fun to take it out of mothballs. I prefer it over the awful Col. or Capt.sincerely, tanglefoot
