This is the 1953 finale at Madison Square Garden, "Americana U.S.A.

In the mid 60s the 3 flying acts
were hung with the center front
to back & the ends the long way
in this same building
This was obviously taken from the
cheap seats up in 1 corner
A very similar finale was done in 1941.
Had FDR in the center ring instead of the US flag didn't it sometime during the WWII years? But still had the large US flags in the end rings?
The huge FDR portraits were used in the finale for 1942. Girls climbed up the sides of each and at the dramatic moment they lit sparklers.
The day I saw it in Atlanta one of the sparklers ingnited a trapping or costume as I recall. There was a moment of panic.
