when i was announcer in '72 we had 35 elephants (probably 15-17 actually performed), even recall sending a $5000 bundle of cash to one guy to buy an elephant as they were still fairly easy to acquire and DR loved owning lots of them--they all traveled with the show, not like today where they rent out a bunch.
