Circus Cameos #11

Merle Evans and the band’s organist seem to be finding Holly’s encountering the Great Sebastian aloft as a source of innocent merriment.

Any idea of who's in the band? Our friend from San Diego might have some insight to this. ~frank

The 1951 RBBB Route Book should list their names.

I've seen this organist and at least one other, with their organ facing the bandstand. There has to be a reason for setting him like this, but it seems to me he could have been placed so he could follow Merle's lead and play to the acts as well, instead of spending the season with his back to the performance. Can you music guys enlighten us?

May have something to do with the way the organ mounted in the wagon. The back of this wagon loaded buggies I think and the organ was mounted in the top?

The horns are directional, the organ's keyboard doesn't have to face any particular direction as the speakers are where the sound comes out.
The organist can see Merle and Merle is leading the band.
