The Duo must be part of the Tovarich Troupe billed on this poster.

Several years ago, Bill Strong told me that he worked with one of the Tovarich on Krone. Perhaps one of the readers would have more info.

Ray Royal's Cats was my mothers Aunt, my mother & father took the act over in 1949, at that time it was the only house cat act.

The Tovarich Troupe that I have pics of consisted of the mother and several daughters plus the father. All the girls were stunning blondes. I think there were three daughters. The troup did partner handbalancing similar to a statue act

The Tovarich duo was the one daughter and the mother was the understander. They did some class tricks including a solid one hander on the head with walking in that position.

If I am not mistaken they were also on Ed Sullivan show.

Just a bit more on the Tovarich troup.There is a lot on the Tovarich troup if you google the name. Bill Strong had a lot on his site a few years back.

There were four girls and the mother in the act. The father had been in a balancing act as well before the girls were working.

There are some good videos of both the girls and the father working.


So, google Tovarich Troup handbalancers for more info.
