1973 Journal- Left Mexico City with Shannon with the camper and trailer on Mon. Oct. 22 bound for Venice, Florida. Crossed the border at Laredo on the 23rd and spent the night at MacDonald's place in San Antonio. Arrived in Ruskin, Fla. on Friday night Oct. 26 and spent a few days getting Shannon settled in with Aunt Hope. Pulled into the Venice quarters on the afternoon of Oct. 29 to go to work. 18 elephants here- Peggy, Rosie, Joan, Christine, Manja, Rebecca, Seina, Gilda, Carmen, Mudu, Tagu, Minyak, Mala, Sandry, Sheva, Assam, Patna, and Matsho (the first ten from Billy Smart Circus in England). "To clearify this, Barbara, Ben and Dalilah remained in Mexico with Circo London with "Anna May" until the contract was completed." "I might also add that no one in quarters had been informed about me and I got a pretty cool reception from the Dick Brown Intelligencia. Even Hugo Schmitt was surprised."

Her original name was "Matsho", I changed it to "Hope" after my sister in law and Rex finally decided on "Gyp".

Buckles,
Are these last seven the untrained babies that you mentioned accompanied the Smart elephants in early 1972?
