A Hippopotamus spends most of the daylight hours sleeping under the water and roams in search of food at night. “Puddles” was bon in an American Zoo from American born parents. [The first hippo exhibited in a Pacific Coast zoo, Puddles came to San Diego in 1936 as part of an animal trade with the Brookfield Zoo.] |
