Almost looks like an old hearse.
You don't see many circus wagons with a vestibule.
Perhaps one guy drove the rig and the others sat in the verandah, watching the scenery go past until such time as they hopped into action to post bills?
Could that unusual looking possum be a small heater? Or a glue sump?
Light duty, box body wagons on carriage style undergears, whether hease, omnibus, milk carrier or advance wagon, had many similarities. Some hearses had more applied woodcarving than circus wagons. Thankfully people of the time knew the differences.
