R-B1926 Lillian Leitzel and Dolly Jahn

This photograph of Lillian Leitzel and future aerialist Dolly Jahn is dated May 11, 1926 and was apparently taken inside Miss Leitzel's private dressing tent during the two-day stand in Washington DC. The two are celebrating Dolly's fifth birthday (which was actually May 10).

This is our wonderful Showfolks Board member of the past few years, namely Dolly Copeland. She and husband Tex were both active wth us and she was a great gal with lots of class. Dolly Jacobs is named after her and I believe she and our own club member, Mary jane Miller did an aerial act together. SWhe was an accomplished artist and I have a Nice painting of a Circus liberty horse in my home presented to me by Tex and Dolly. I am pleased to comment about her. She served me well on the board during my time as club Pres. Rest in piece dear Dolly.respectfully, joh herriott

Co-incidentally; This evning in the beautiful Asolo theatre on the grounds of the Ringling Museum A special honor to Miss Leitzel wil be recognized as one of the "all time greats" in the annual "Circus Celebrity series". A wonderful evening and chance to visit with Sarasota and area Circus Citizens. Don't miss it and its complimentary. John herriott
