The Parker Ranch once served as a temporary refuge for some performing elephants and their trainer, who were “between engagements.” (When Adele’s students took them down into Metropolitan Park and swam them in Rocky River, the park commissioner soon began receiving crazy phone calls about elephants having been spotted in the park!)
