Hi Buckles,
This photo is not from 1946 but most likely from 1942 or earlier. Notice the air conditioning wagon on the flat car on the left.
I believe the last year for these wagons was 1942.
Dom
I spent Sunday night at the CSX railyard, in Tampa, watching the Red unit loadout. I was given a tour of the NEW GENERATOR CAR> This car has two NEW 600kw Cummins generators, and the most elaborate electrical system you have ever seen. Reported cost 2 million dollars. I left the loading scene at 2:00am, as I had a flight to Michigan at 9:00am, and am now freezing in the wonderful state of Michigan. Will be back in Tampa, a week from today.
This too is a Bob Good photo frm 1942, listed as no.2 on his list of 40 pics from 1942.
Buckles - -Why do the elephant men always ride the the head of the animal on the left in these elephant teams.
