Bob, Yes, that is the old menagerie canvas truck #254 that was used in 1954 & 55 when they brought back the menagerie tent. It carried all the canvas and poles for the tent. In 1957 it was used to carry the new yellow rubber mats that replaced the dirt and sawdust in the Gardens. Notice also in photo # 6 another Mack truck. This was old # 233. It had the water tank removed and had a fifth wheel added. It pulled a semi trailer that carried the indoor rigging. After they went on trucks, several of the old Mack water trucks were converted to fifth wheels and pulled the various semi trailers over the road. The July - Aug.1994 issue of Bandwagon had a very detailed article on the 1957 Ringling truck show by Fred Pfening. I highly recommend the article. I don't know if it is listed in the Bandwagon archives on the CHS website. Dom

Dom, Wasn't the truck in the middle one of the previous Big Top Canvas trucks? If it was, what was loaded in it now, would you have any ideas?
Bob
Great photos, Dom. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Floor mats, I think.
Have no idea what's in it but
the truck is a Mack Thermodyne B
diesel from the early 50s
