Kelly-Miller had the first automatic dish washer. D.R. said they bought some army surplus kitchen supplies after the war, metal trays, eating utensils, etc. After being wiped off these were deposited into a large tub that was then placed inside the back door of the cook house. A couple buckets of water added, topped off by some dish soap and the drive to the next town provided the action. Upon arrival they would spread them out on the grass to dry. I swear that's what he said.
