In addition to circus memorabilia, over the years I’ve collected photos, postcards and other items related to old time American amusement parks. Among my Coney Island photos are a few showing elephants. (What little I know about Coney Island is what I’ve read in books, so if you have more information about who and what is shown in these photos, your sharing it here will be greatly appreciated by the rest of us.) |

Christ what a struggle this morning.
Flicker came up with a completely new format.
By sheer luck I bumbled around and managed get the first picture entered but finally gave up and waited to call Shannon.
I carefully wrote down the 13 new steps required for each picture (I have to go back to square one every time).
Hopefully with repetition I can shorten the procedure.
Don't they make computers that are Senior Citizen friendly?
In Animals are my Life,Lorenz Hagenbeck wrote about shipping 36 elephants to the U.S. in 1904. Eight went to their show at the STL World's Fair, eight to Ringling Bros., and twenty including two males) to Luna Park. Hagenbeck refered to Luna Park as the largest menagerie in the world.
You're doing just fine, sir. ~frank
