To open your blog this morn. and be so thrilled of the bFloto program. What a treat. In spades. God if I could spend an hour with Mayme Ward or John Smith. It is overflowing with so much that is dear to my heart and hearing so much of so many of those people during their times. I was surprised to note that Peter Taylor was still active. My Dad told me about him on Jones Bros. and WilsoSo Beatyyn and also that he was the forerunner of Beatys great career. So Beatty must have been on John Rob. or HW at that time. Both starring on major American circuses.
There is so much remarkable for me in this blog segment. What a feast and keep up the good work. Preceding it with Ringling Blue was just great as well. Our cup runneth over. Again respects and wishes for Fred. Buckles you are one in a million. I can not thank you enough for my daily look at the blog. Other circus bloggers are great as well, but you change every day. I enjoy them all. Thanks. I am right now going to rerun the floto segment. MR will be looking at it later in the day.
Thank You Ole Whitey, for the life of me I couldn't figure out what the heck she was holding and now wondering, "What's with the toy airplane in this girl's hand?"
Erie issued a one sheet upright featuring Buffalo Bill in the saddle for Sells-Floto. The circus name was at the bottom, almost as an afterthought. Cody had been dead for nine years by then. Think his family was paid for the use of the name by Mugivan and Bowers?
Read "Timber Line" by Gene Fowler. Bon and Tam pretty well stripped the old man of all rights to his name long before the Corporation bought Sells-Floto.

During a visit to the Bugliones
at Cirque D'Hiver in Paris several
years back 1 of the brothers asked
me to go with him to vote just so
I could witness the procedure of
him swearing that his full name
included "Buffalo Bill Cody
Buglione" which he had changed
legally to allow him to use it
in show advertising uncontested
Jean Charles did a similar thing

I just remembered that it was
Emilian Buglione
At least one year (1925) the Buffalo Bill name was appended to the Hagenbeck-Wallace title. Of course ole Bill had actually been with Sells-Floto.

The plane is a replica of the Spirit of St. Louis which Lindbergh had flown the previous year.

Ah- an homage so to speak. Maybe she was dressed to dance the Lindy Hop?
Leave it to Flint....what doesn't this man know?? Thanks Dick.
Note to Ole Whitey re your last comment..ouch.
Best to you both.

PS Just noted on a later page that one of the specialty horses is named Col. Lindbergh.
