This cage received the corner images from one of the two old Forepaugh-Sells cages acquired by Barnes. He had a cottage cage from the John Robinson Ten Big Shows, another cottage style cage from Great Wallace, one den from the 1905-1906 Carl Hagenbeck outfit, another off Sells-Floto, at least three from Moellers, a couple mounted on motor trucks in the mid-1910s and the former Gollmar hippo den, among others. In time they were all substantially rebuilt or replaced. Two of the most interesting were the last, and enormous hippo den, said by Jake Posey to be the heaviest wagon he ever moved and the unusual drop bottom cage for Joe Martin.
