Pablo Noel-2, originally uploaded by bucklesw1. Another backyard shot. Both Charly Baumann’s tigers and Pablo’s lions appeared in the second half of the performance. Having two wild animal acts almost back-to-back doesn’t seem like the most ideal programming. Since the Blue Unit would always open with an elephant long mount, it must have been felt that it was safer not to have elephants and wild animals in the arena together at the same time. (This policy changed beginning in 1976.)
