Buckles: Could you share your observations on the differences between zoo and circus elephants? Years ago I ran into a woman who was doing a comparison of zoo and circus elephants. Her tentative findings were that circus elephants had better vital signs than zoo elephants. They had better blood presure and lived longer than their zoo cousins. She attributed it to the activity and sense of purpose that circus elephants had. Do you think there is anything to this.
