From Mike Naughton

Joanne Wilson called me last night and told me Bill died on Sunday.
That's all I know as she was finishing the fair date for Bauer and headed back to Gibtown for arrival tonight (Monday).

I had just visited with Bill at his home last week. Roy and Cindy Wells were also there. We had a nice talk, and Bill, while confined to a hospital bed, seemed to be in good spirits.

I guess that I have known Bill and Trudy about as long as I have known anybody in the circus buisness. Bill and I had many good phone conversations, as recently as the day before he passed away.

My sincere sympathy's to Trudy, David, Steven and the entire Strong and Wilson families.

Rest in peace my good friend!

That big show in the sky seems to be getting all of the good acts and down here we are so much poorer for it. In Peace.

One of the truly good guys of this business, Bill leaves us with the comfort of knowing he is on the Big Lot.

I pray that as he wanted, he passed peacefully in his sleep.

Our condolences to Trudy and all the Strong and Wilson families.

My sincere sympathy to Trudy & Family. I always enjoyed my visits with Bill, be it @ Gibtown circus or a Sarasota function such as the yearly Charlie Smith luncheon that he & Trudy always attended. He was the 'poster boy' in encouraging people not to smoke. His blog has provided a great opportunity to share stories & circus history. Rest in peace Bill, you have truly earned that.

God bless Bill Strong and Trudy, their children, and all their families at this sad time. Trudy and Bill were so amazing in all of the pictures and articles I have seen. Their love of the circus and animals was a true testament to all us who love those very special things. I never got to meet them in person, but felt I knew them somehow, especially Bill, who was a funny man in his messages and emails. The world is a much sadder place without Bill in it. God bless you all. Karen Glenn
