Yes we did have a reunion here at the club concoted by our own wonderful Jenny Wallenda. A reunion of some sort I guess. It seems it was for us 65 and up. It was a great turn out because it was from 4 to 8, so many of us old folks did not have to face night driving. Yes, our beloved members Jackie and Mary Jane were there and so many others. Great stars of yesteryear to numerous to mention and our wonderful members from those years gone by in all facets of our industry. It is what our club is all about. Oldest in attendance was Arthur Grotefant at 95 and some close behind. Two great La's in attendance and both looking great [La Norma, Fox and La Toria, Vickey Unus]. Norbu confessed to 80 and Dieter Tasso and I are coming along. Naturally the conversations centered around, what else? cat scams, angio plasty, MRI. Much different from jackpots 40 years ago. But it was great and what our club is and has been all about. Wished all of you could have been there. Penny Wilson did her candid camera and look for pictures on some of the great circus blogs.
Jackie and Mary Jane: Don't wait run one of you writers for the real Ringling Stories under the BIG TOP. Two fantastic people that have done so much for the Great Ringling ERA....And still have stories to tell.
Thanks Buckles for posting this picture and good luck to you with your Doctors Appointments.....
Your audience has grown over the years with your GREAT BLOG.
Is this the Mary Jane that wrote the "Dressing Room Gossip" column in the "Billboard"? bill Galloway,Rochester,NY
I get to see Jackie every once
in a while but I really miss
seeing Mary Jane at "Sally's"
That was such a great resource
She had so many unique and one
of a kind items (lost treasures)
Sorry I missed yesterday but
that was my "med test day"
Jackie LeClaire: refer to "BANDWAGON" Nov/Dec. 2006 - Ringling's Disastrous European `1963-64 Tour by Don Stacey RBBB Publicity Mgr. Page 43 he mentions Jackie as the only clown brought over by Ringling with talent. He was younger than others and with lots of talent. He went on to say the others were simply clapped out. The article answers a number of questions on what went wrong in Europe and great pictures.
